Dear Officials,
Beginning Wednesday October 26, 2011 from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM, the Intermediate School 8 ( IS 8) located at 108 -35 167th  Street Jamaica, New York 11433 shall be the official New York location for the 2011 Fall/Winter Pro-Am Referee Training & Development class.    

Aspiring basketball officials of all levels are encouraged to participate. Do not deceive yourself. If your goal is to improve your performance and to better position yourself in becoming a viable candidate for privileged levels of basketball, starting at High School, Superior Adult Leagues, College, Semi Pro or the NBA, it is imperative that you prepare by developing and training on a higher level that this training provides. The Pro-Am Referee Training & Development Program assists and directs all Officials toward their goal by utilizing enhanced fundamental techniques. If you are energetic, enthusiastic, and passionate and possess an open ear, heart and mind to constructive criticism, we encourage and invite you to come and participate. Give yourself the opportunity to improve and to develop your skills and abilities while training with other officials in a professional environment.

The class cost is $200.00 for first time officials participating in the program. Returning intermediate officials with 1 to 4 year program participation is $175.00. All veteran officials with a minimum of 5 years of program participation the class cost is $150.00.

Note: We encourage all participants to register for the Fall/Winter session to receive a complete/full year of participation eligibility (October 2011 thru August 2012)

The class shall consist of seven weekly sessions. Books, materials and Pro-Am Referee affiliation is included in the cost. At the conclusion of the class training session, each official who satisfactory completes the required standards (testing, class participation) becomes eligible for the following.

1. Officiating in local & national Pro-Am affiliated venues. 
2. Referral to select college conferences and professional leagues identification, introduction, instructional invitational, tryout and selection camps.

 
Full payment is due the first day of class. No books or materials shall be distributed until full payment has been made.

Make the full payment of $200.00 for first time participating officials. Returning intermediate officials $175.00 (1-4) years of program participation. All veteran officials with a minimum of (5) years of program participation $150.00.  Cash or money order only, payable to: 
Pro-Am Referee Training & Development Inc or Pro-Am 

Program participants must attend the minimum of 4 class sessions starting in October 2011 to be active for the October 2011 thru August 2012 season. You are encouraged to attend the fall/winter session to take advantage of the entire 2011-2012 season. Participants choosing to wait by attending the spring/summer session in April 2012, will not become active until the required 4 class minimum has been satisfied at that time.
